A cashew project fails in one of two places: the plan, or the handover. Plants get built at the wrong size for the nuts their region actually produces, or they get built correctly and then handed to a team nobody trained. Consulting covers six workstreams that run from before the building exists to after the line is yours.
What the consulting covers
Feasibility & sourcing study
raw-nut availability and seasonality in your region, realistic production KOR (typically 22–24 kg of saleable kernel per 100 kg of RCN), power, steam and water requirements, a labour plan, and a grade-mix strategy aimed at the markets you intend to sell into.
Plant design & layout
line sizing from 230 kg/h single-machine setups to 1,000–1,200 kg/h multi-machine shelling lines on a Size A basis, material flow across the eight core stages, buffer sizing between them, and building and utility drawings.
Machinery specification
matched equipment from the TTQ range — steaming at 3–4 bar, shell-fired boilers from 300 to 4,000 kg of steam per hour, borma dryers from 0.5 to 4.5 t per batch, peeling at 120–480 kg/h with correctly sized 30–100 HP compressors, roller grading, optical sorting, vacuum packing with metal detection — specified to hold breakage under 3% and uncut under 5%.
Installation & commissioning
supervision of civil preparation, utility hook-ups, line erection, test runs on your own raw nuts, and quality calibration against the specification your buyers actually enforce.
Training & handover
operator and maintenance training on site, written SOPs for each stage, and a spare-parts plan sized to how far you are from a supplier.
Ongoing support
remote diagnostics, spares supply, and an upgrade path so the line you buy now is the first phase rather than the ceiling.
The eight stages a plan has to account for
Every layout decision comes back to the same sequence: calibration, steaming, shelling, borma drying, humidification, peeling, grading and colour sorting, then packing. The stages are not independent — grading sets what the cutter can achieve, steaming sets whether the kernel releases whole, drying and humidification together set peeling yield. Sizing one stage without the others is the most common and most expensive planning error, and it is what a feasibility study exists to prevent.
Why a manufacturer
The machines, the line design and the support come from one company. When a line underperforms there is one party responsible for finding out why and fixing it, rather than a machinery supplier and a consultant each pointing at the other. Quotations are FOB Cat Lai Port, Ho Chi Minh City; installation and training are scoped per project.

The process, drawn
The eight core stages
Raw cashew nut in at one end, packed export kernel out at the other. Moisture is the thread: every stage either takes it out or puts a controlled amount back.
Capacities and cycles are Size A basis, per 8-hour shift. Stages 04 and 05 are separate machines in separate rooms — the borma oven dries, the humidifier puts moisture back.
Plant scale and what actually separates the tiers
Capacity alone does not explain the jump between plant sizes. The additions do.
Equipment is only 55–65% of a project. Installation, electrical work, buildings, utilities and raw-material inventory typically add 40–60% on top of the equipment package.
