Two distinct machines: a mechanical roller grader that separates peeled kernels by size (W180–W450), and an optical colour sorter that separates by colour and size together.

"Cashew grading machine" covers two different machines, and it is worth being clear which one you are buying. The mechanical roller grader separates peeled kernels by size alone — the whole white grades W180 to W450, plus splits, butts and pieces — using rollers set to a size band. TTQ builds these from 12 to 36 axes, and they cap at about 420–540 kg/h on 36 axes. The optical colour sorter is a separate machine that grades by colour and size together, using cameras and air ejectors to pull out scorched, spotted and off-white kernels; optical sorters run far faster, up to 4 tonnes an hour. Most export lines run both: the roller grader sets the size class, the colour sorter enforces the white-grade spec.

Rollers set to a size band separate whole kernels into W180 through W450 export classes. 12 to 36 axes, capping at 420–540 kg/h.
Optical sorting, by colour and size
A separate machine. Cameras and air ejectors remove scorched, spotted and off-white kernels, and it grades by size at the same time — up to 4 t/h.

Grading is two machines, not one
"Cashew grading machine" is used for both, and they do different jobs at very different speeds.

Export lines normally run both: the roller grader sets the size class, the colour sorter enforces the white-grade specification. The sorter is roughly ten times faster, so one sorter serves several graders.
Where the grade value sits
The W number counts kernels per pound. Fewer, larger kernels command more — which is why whole-kernel recovery, not throughput, decides what a plant earns.
Grading order is colour, then shape, then size. Scorched grades (SW) carry the same counts at a lower price. Source: AFI standards.
Where it fits in the process
Grading and sorting follow peeling and precede vacuum packing. The graded, colour-sorted kernels are what the packing line seals into export-ready lots.
